Here's a handy link to the RS Authentic Tones and corresponding RS songs:

I have most of this info in my spreadsheets, but I've never bothered to extract it into a list form. This one is ABC by artist/band. Eventually I'll resort the list by song and possibly cross-ref by tone name. Probably will post this as a page for easy reference/access - but don't hold your breath. 1. Hey JT, thanks for the shout out! I decided to make this list, as I've been venturing into the Subject-Of-Which-We-Dare-Not-Speak...(custom songs). For me, it's easier to copy a tone I like, than try to come up with something. Pedals are a completely foreign language to me. I don't own any and have never played with one.

As I stated in my post, the list is not complete as I don't own all the DLC. I don't have any Metal or a lot of the newest stuff.

I sorted by song, as that is how the default RS menu is sorted.

    1. Bluezman: I'm with you on the pedal thing. It's frustrating to me that in order to replicate many (most?) of my favorite tunes, I've got to learn to play not only the guitar but my amp and probably a handful of pedals, too. This is why I still like bluegrass music - it's still pure acoustic. I can't play it, but I like to listen to it and especially see it played live. You know what you're getting! I do have a modeling amp and also a big processing board and between the two I can make all sorts of bizarre noises - but many of them are more suited to playing on a synthesizer than on a guitar.

I'm also with you on the sorting. If I'm looking for a tone to play with in amp mode, I'm most likely to look for it by the song I remember it being used in. So, if I add to this list I'll stick with your sort. Thanks for submitting the list!

  2. No problem. I'll probably update it slowly as I get more DLC.

I have a modeling amp also. A Fender G-DEC 3. It has 100 presets with built-in amps and pedals for everything from acoustic to heavy distortion. You can also create your own tones and save them on an SD card. It also has built-in backing tracks, so you can jam along with it. Pretty good bang for the buck.

I would like a tube amp at some point, like a Fender Blues Jr., but this suits me for now. I saw a comparison video on YouTube, my amp vs. a tube amp. On guy on there swore by tube amps, hated solid state. But when he closed his eyes, he couldn't tell the difference.
